The University of the Philippines Geological Society (UP GeoSoc) stands as a venerable institution within the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS), dedicated to upholding honor and excellence in the field of geology. With a proud legacy of alumni who have distinguished themselves as leaders in various subfields of geology, ranging from industry to academia, UP GeoSoc continues to be a driving force in advancing the discipline.
In its 66th year, UP GeoSoc is proud to announce the annual National Geology Congress (NGC). For over a decade, the NGC has been a cornerstone event, fulfilling its objectives of equipping high school earth science teachers and students with the necessary tools for comprehensive discussion and integration of geological principles and practices. Additionally, the NGC serves to underscore the impact and importance of geology in our daily lives.
After nearly three years of online setup, this year’s NGC marks a significant return to face-to-face interaction. Scheduled to take place at the National Institute of Geological Sciences, UP Diliman, from April 5 to 6, 2024, the event promises to provide an immersive and enriching experience for all participants.
