“Kapit” Presscon: What’s In Store For Christian Bautista?

Yesterday, September 20, 2017 was a day of good music when Christian Bautista serenaded members of the press at his album launch in Universal Tower. His album entitled “Kapit” with the carrier single of the same title has taken a different route compared to his other songs early in his career. “”Kapit” is an upbeat song about choosing to fight for the relationship against all odds. Christian co-wrote his song with Bryan Lotho from Sonic State Audio Productions. Christian is one of the most sought after balladeers, thanks to his graceful and beautiful voice; he has also sold eight platinum records and has been singing popular tv and movie theme songs as well as remakes of classics. But this time, he is taking a different road for his career so we’ll be hearing a new and better Christian Bautista. There are 12 songs in his album, 4 of which, he collaborated with Morisette Amon (Ikaw Lamang), Jessica Sanchez of American Idol fame (Two Forevers), Gabbi Garcia (Maghihintay) and Jennylyn Mercado (Suddenly). He also featured Eunice Jorge in his song “Musika” where she played the violin. At the presscon, he welcomed questions from members of the press stating that this album launch is a venue for him to go one step higher in his career. Today he is not only limited to classic remakes or telenovela and movie theme songs, which he insisted he is thankful for having the opportunity to perform, because he is now venturing into a different path in terms of his career. As we all know, Christian is not only popular in the Philippines but in other Southeast Asian countries as well. The passion for his music radiates in all the songs you will hear in his album. To mark this momentous event in his career, fans can see Christian perform live on September 29 at the Music Museum in Greenhills. When asked what his long term goals are, Christian said that he plans to take his career to the next level and to take on whatever tomorrow brings. On a more personal note, he said that there are plans in settling down one day soon with his special someone. He also jokingly answered he’d be a rock star if he wasn’t a balladeer.
