This year, Manila Workshops, with the support of the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT), is having 2nd The Freelancer Fair. The Freelancer Fair is a one day exposition for the freelancing, professional and MSME community in the Philippines. It aims to educated the market on the benefits of being and hiring a freelancer to meet business objectives and goals. Come join us at the Freelancer Fair, the country’s first and largest Freelancing Event, now at its second year! With this year’s theme: Cultivating Relationships, the event promises to give you a full day of learning through a series of talks, panel discussions and networking with freelancers, industry experts and businesses. THE MISSION: In the Philippines, we have around 1.4M freelancers who are working online. Most of these freelancers are virtual assistants, graphic artists, programmers, marketers, animators, etc. This number does not include the freelancers who are working “offline”, such as photographers, videographers, make-up artists, fitness coaches, consultants, etc. Both of these numbers are growing, as the “gig economy” is now being widely accepted as a viable option for a career or a profession. We at Manila Workshops, have always believed that we have talented people in the Philippines and we want to make it widely known that being a freelancer is a profession. The successful people who have made it in this industry took it to heart to always be ahead of the curve by learning new skills and by adapting to the changes happening.
